Congratulations, Joshua Barks, You Make the Difference!
Congratulations to Joshua Barks, Business Center Analyst, on winning Socket’s You-Make-The-Difference Award for March!
Joshua is a part of our business technician team, and helps keep our business customers up and running. From navigating complex hosted phone issues, to simpler (but no less important) questions about email or passwords, he listens and responds to customer issues. And he has a unique outlook on it, too.
“I get to investigate ‘mysteries,’ like why someone’s services are acting up,” said Joshua. “It takes deductive reasoning, asking the right questions, and applying the scientific method... kinda like a new age Sherlock Holmes.”
“Josh is a solid tech; very knowledgeable and always willing to lend a hand where he’s needed,” said a coworker who nominated him for the award. “He always goes above and beyond for our customers and his fellow Socketeers.”
“He’s one of the pillars of the business center – we couldn’t do it without him,” said another.
In his free time, Joshua enjoys reading science fiction and fantasy books, as well as RPGs and real-time strategy games. (His cat, Orion, is less enthusiastic about the video games, as he enjoys lying on Joshua’s keyboard.) Joshua also spends time with his family and walks the local trails when the weather’s cooperative.
“The people at Socket are great,” said Joshua. “From the common interests, to the sense of humor around here, I’ve yet to meet a Socketeer I don’t get along with.”
