Congratulations to Allison Ferguson, Service Provisioner, on being named Socket’s You-Make-The-Difference award winner for November!
Allison has been with Socket for 6 years. She began working here at the age of 21, when her ancient language professor encouraged her to apply. Her professor knew Allison was interested in technology and mentioned that he had Socket internet services and loved the company. She has been here ever since. When describing her job to a friend, Allison would say “You know that internet thing you really like? Yeah, I make that”.
“Allison always helps people whenever she can,” said a coworker who nominated her, ”even at the cost of her own lunch.”
Outside of work, Allison enjoys playing retro games, such as the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). “My poor NES has gotten no rest, despite my childhood being long gone at this point,” Allison says, “It’s a trooper though. The little NES that could.” Although Allison’s parents and siblings live on a beach in Florida, she still remains close to them (even if she is a little jealous). She also has a totally adorable dog named Rook, who is half German shepherd and half Siberian husky.
Allison’s favorite part about working for Socket is the people. She says she has made most of her lifelong friendships at Socket; “Socket is responsible for pretty much everything that has made my adult life what it is today.”
