Congratulations to Russ Mulkey, Business Center Tech Support Supervisor, on being named Socket’s You-Make-The-Difference award winner for October!
Russ has been with Socket since college, when he was hired on as a Business Center Tech Support Agent in 2007. Since then, he has held many different roles within the company, including Sales Engineer, Field Service Technician, and he was even Socket’s first fiber optic splicer. Since then, he has come full circle back to the Business Center, where as supervisor, he manages and assists the Business Tech Support Agents as they support Socket’s business customers.
“Russ bleeds Socket purple,” says a coworker who nominated him. “He’s always taking it to the next level when championing for the customer. A self-sacrificing inspiration who always puts the customer first.”
Outside of work, Russ likes to stay pretty busy. He enjoys listening to music, and he even plays the acoustic and electric guitar. Other hobbies include watching Cardinals baseball, outdoor activities, such as hiking, and taking a spin in his Challenger R/T.
When asked what his favorite part about working for socket is, Russ said that he loves sharing his knowledge with his team members, in hope to expand their knowledge base and skills. “It is great to be a part of a company that listens to their customers, and genuinely strives to deliver a good experience with voice and data services we provide,” says Russ. “Some refer to that as "above and beyond". We at Socket simply call it "providing good customer service".”
