Unfortunately, a new phone system just wasn't in the budget for Fulton Medical Center. There were other needs and priorities for the 37-bed facility and its adjacent clinics. But the old phone system wasn't going to last, and IT Coordinator Bill Glenn knew it.

TREATING A BANDWIDTH SHORTAGE

The switch to Socket's fiber network resulted in a huge bandwidth boost at the medical center. Before, the radiology department was uploading large images and using the majority of network resources. Now, other departments at the hospital aren't just using what's leftover. They've got the bandwidth they need to run web-based applications to send files to referring physicians.

Ultimately, the move to Socket's fiber network made sense for Fulton Medical Center. The hospital has more bandwidth that requires fewer resources and time to maintain.
