Socket expands fiber network to Mexico

Socket is proud to announce the expansion of its fiber-optic broadband network to Mexico, which brings ultra-fast internet and reliable telephone service to nearly 150 area businesses.

With speeds up to one gigabit per second or even faster, fiber-optic technology is the fastest, most reliable connection available. Its large bandwidth capacity is considered future-proof and will accommodate increased internet usage for decades to come.

“We’re very excited to expand our fiber network to Mexico,” said George Pfenenger, Socket CEO and co-owner. “Many businesses in the area are eager for fast, reliable services, and we’ve seen the positive impact that fiber can have on the local economy.”

Construction on the expansion project is underway. Socket chose to expand to Mexico due to a need for more high-speed internet options in the area, as well as to provide enhanced services to its existing customers.

“The community will have a distinct advantage to other areas with the increase in fiber for area businesses and citizens,” said Russell Runge, assistant city manager, “especially since the technology is only going to see an increase in use.”
