Socket Expands Service to Moberly School District

May 15, 2019

(COLUMBIA, MO) – Socket is expanding the services it provides to the Moberly School District, bringing the speed of fiber to the district.

Socket has provided local and long-distance voice service to all nine locations in the school district. With the addition of fiber, the district will be able to cut costs, while also having the ability to communicate between buildings more effectively. The district also will have fiber for Internet and Wide Area Network service.

“We are excited for this new opportunity to continue to work with Socket to provide data and Internet services,” said Alan West, technology coordinator for the Moberly School District. “Fiber will provide a standard of communications to meet the school district’s data needs and allow us to stay current with the latest technology.”

In addition to two 1Gb Dedicated Internet connections, Socket is installing a 10GB lit fiber Wide Area Network (WAN) with all hardware included to nine individual sites throughout Moberly. This WAN will allow every building and every employee in the district to operate and communicate at the same level regardless of the building they are working in.
