Zach Crutcher - Socket's You-Make-The-Difference Winner for February

Congratulations to Zach Crutcher, Technical Support Agent, on being Socket's You-Make-The-Difference Award Winner for February!

Originally from Moberly, Zach moved to Columbia two years ago after being accepted at Columbia College. Since it was only a few minutes away from his new school, Socket seemed like a good place to apply – and we’re glad he did!

"He's always willing to help, always has a plan, and is always taking the extra step to help customers," said a coworker who nominated him.

TV Service Is Here!

When you think about television service, we’re guessing certain things come to mind. And we’re guessing a lot of them aren’t good.

Lengthy contracts. Rates that creep up a little bit higher every month. Service outages, especially when the weather’s bad. Customer service that’s impossible to reach. Overall, just a hassle to deal with.

That’s why, when Socket decided to launch TV service over its fiber network in Fulton, as well as parts of rural Callaway and Boone Counties, we wanted to make sure we did things differently.

Jacob Campbell - Socket's You-Make-The-Difference Winner for January

Jacob Campbell

Congratulations to Jacob Campbell, Technical Support Agent, on winning this month’s You-Make-The-Difference award!

Jacob has been a part of our residential tech support team for over a year. As a Tier II agent, he not only helps with troubleshooting customer issues, but also helps with training and supporting new agents that are just learning the ropes.

“Many of my coworkers agree; they wouldn't be growing or where they are today, if he hadn't been there helping with problems and solving issues,” said a coworker who nominated him for the award.

Scott Stratman - Socketeer of the Year 2014

Scott Stratman holds Socketeer of the Year trophy

10 years ago, Socket’s owners decided to honor one of our monthly You-Make-The-Difference Award winners based on their embodiment of our Core Values and Beliefs. As a result, a yearly tradition was born.

We are pleased to announce our tenth annual winner of the Socketeer of the Year award – Scott Stratman!

Other than owner George Pfenenger, Scott is the longest serving employee at Socket, having started here back in 1996. At the time, the company had fewer than a dozen employees, and only sold dial-up Internet service (we've grown a lot)!

Since then, Scott has become our Network Facilities Manager, working to make sure Socket’s network remains healthy as we continually add new services to it. His years of knowledge and experience with Socket are always a valuable resource for teammates to draw on, as well.
