Meet Deborah McDuffie, Service Delivery Coordinator!

Deborah McDuffie was recently selected as Socket's You-Make-the-Difference-Award winner for April.

This is Deborah's THIRD time winning the YMTD award. She also set a record (we're pretty sure) with 11 nominations in a single month. Needless to say, a lot of people around here think she does a great job.

"Deb is an exceptional employee," said one of those 11 co-workers who nominated her for the award. "Her amazing attention to detail makes installations go so much better than they would without her oversight. She's always happy to assist customers and her fellow Socketeers."

Meet Mat Harrison, Programmer!

Mat Harrison was selected as Socket's You-Make-the-Difference-Award winner for March. His fellow co-workers decided his ability to move things to a state of awesomeness was worthy of recognition.

"Mat is a real asset to the Socket team," said a co-worker who nominated him for the award. "There are so many examples of him taking something and making it more awesome, saving us time and helping us serve our customers better."

Meet Adam Shipp, Network Design Specialist

Sometimes, you just know a person is awesome. Even if you can’t put your finger on exactly why.

That’s true when it comes to Adam Shipp, who was chosen as Socket’s You-Make-the-Difference-Award winner for the month of February.

A co-worker who nominated Adam for the award said the following:

You know the people who, even though you don’t know exactly what they do, you know they are very smart and extremely good at their job? This is Adam Shipp. I can’t think of one thing that Adam can’t do. He’s a key Socketeer, and Socket wouldn’t run as well without him here.

Greetings From Mexico!

We're excited to be expanding our services in Mexico, MO! Even if it's not as warm as the other Mexico, we’re sure excited to be there.

While we've been providing Internet service to Mexico for awhile, we can now also offer home phone service, phone/internet bundles and Naked DSL (a high-speed Internet option for people who don't have active landlines in their house). In short, Mexico residents and businesses now have many more choices when it comes to telecom service.

A Look Back...And Ahead

We’re continuing to move forward with projects we launched or expanded in 2012. Like our rural fiber network in Callaway and Boone counties. This past year, we not only made significant progress on constructing this new network, but we also turned up our first residential customers on fiber broadband. Many of them haven’t ever had high-speed before, so it’s rewarding to see them get connected. We’re expanding fiber access to even more Missouri cities in 2013, including Fulton.

Meet Brian Taylor, Socketeer of the Year!

Our December You-Make-The-Difference winner, Brian Taylor, hadn’t even received his certificate yet before learning that he was also voted our Socketeer of the Year. But since the trophy will take a week or two to be engraved, he’ll at least have something to hang on his wall in the meantime!

The Socketeer of the Year award was started 8 years ago, when Socket’s owners decided to honor one of the year’s monthly You-Make-The-Difference award winners based on their embodiment of our Core Values and Beliefs.

Company Meeting at the Blue Note!

Every couple of months, Socketeers gather to discuss company progress and goals. And while this is always informative and productive, you can’t get every employee into the same room without making it fun!

We had a delicious lunch catered by Buckingham’s BBQ, and gathered at the Blue Note for the presentation. A huge thanks to the staff for helping us set up (and giving us a little tour backstage!)
